A good workout programme is everyone’s first choice in daily fitness routines. With workouts, other workout-related products like supplements are selling more than they did 10 years ago. This can be a good thing or a bad thing. But most trainees forget that a good workout programme is about more than supplements and gear. And in this post I simply want to encourage you to focus on the basics of a good workout programme first and then look for the extra help by using supplements, taking ice baths, etc. First you must understand that all professional athletes are super dedicated individuals. They will always work hard and follow the basics. Sure they might take something extra like massages, supplements, etc. but their first priority is always their practice and workouts. Chatting the whole day about which company’s creatine is best, which style of massage is best are not what you should spend the whole day on if you’re an exercise novice. Keep the following points in mind to get goodworkouts in and not focus solely on the need for performance enhancers: Intensity Focus on intensity- a workout which feels like you did not workout, is just that, a non workout. Your workouts should get you breathing heavy, pushing yourself to complete a movement. Of course you do not need to workout till you can’t move an inch, but you should have to work hard. Higher, Faster, Stronger Focus on progression- always try to ensure that your workouts are progressing each day or each week as per your fitness routine. You should only be doing the same thing over and over again if you do not wish to improve. Else you need to move faster, lift heavier, etc. Variations Vary workouts from time to time- a single workout routine is generally not the best way to progress over a long time. Some workout routines do give results for a very long time, but that is rare. Ideally a good routine will serve you well for 1-3 months. Of course a good workout programme without good recovery days, and a soundnutrition program will not deliver the best results. So ensure that you follow a good diet and restoration routine to help you achieve the most from your workouts.
