There is just some energy about working outdoors that makes one feel like a superwoman (man) or a ninja warrior- so cool. Why you should work out at your local playgrounds. • Plenty of fresh air Ever worked out in a gym without air-con or fans? Yes? You know the heat and sweatstench could literally make you pass out. Outside there is no need for air-con, there is a cool breeze to cool one down. No need to keep asking the gym attendant to lower or raise the temperature to just what you like while other clients debate with you on that or need to keep breaking your work out to gasp for fresh air. You enjoy plenty of clean, fresh air controlled by nature. • No crowd I like to work out in less crowded places not because I am selfish or proud but because I like to set my own work station and get to business uninterrupted. Out in the field, there is space for everyone. You chose the spot you love best and get proper flow of workout. No waiting for a fellow client to finish using the dumbbell, barbell or machine you need. • Freedom Out in the field chances are nobody cares who you are, what you do, how you are doing it ,how long you are doing it for, or what you are wearing. You show up and do your thing like a warrior. You may get a few stares but nobody willapproach to question-especially if you are going hard. Say no to limits and restrictions given in gyms. • Allows for creativity Are you wondering what to do in the field other than some cardio, maybe jogging, running? STOP. There is plenty to do. From cardio exercises, strength exercises and conditioning exercises. Think outside the box, the goal posts can be used for pull ups, used tyres for tyre flips, box jumps on raised platforms and so many more. Check out my outdoor work out for this week below. • Breaks the monotony You’ve been going to the gym all week and it is becoming routine and boring. Go outside, it is refreshing and fun especially if you get a partner to kill the work out with. A change is as good as rest. • It’s free In most cases, no subscription required. You just walk in there like a boss. However, even where a fee is charged, it is significantly more affordable than monthly or daily gym subscriptions. Save money, embrace outdoor workouts.
