So, I have a confession to make.
I haven’t worked out consistently in a month. This may not seem like a big deal to some of you, but those who know me are aware that this is a new development. I got sick with and I took a week off from blogging and then I went back to being healthy and blogging, but not working out.
I was doing the program, which I eventually finished right before the sickness happened. I will attest that I feel better about my body after that workout program than I probably ever have. I appreciate Jamie Eason for her awesomeness in making that workout plan. It works.
There’s a but, though. It left me so wiped and so burnt out. The last thing I wanted to do when I finished that freaking program was find another workout to do. The idea of going to the gym would instantly make me tired and cause me to feel horrendous all over again. I’ve gone to a cycling class and I ran three miles with a friend. That’s the most purposeful physical activity I’ve done since LiveFit. All I want to do is be lazy.
I read this morning which was nice and made me think about what needs to be done for me to get back into the workout spirit. My move to Seattle is so soon and while I don’t feel overwhelmed or weird about it, I can tell the big life change is coming down the pipes. I’m a little more emotional, I’m a little more impatient, and I’m just generally finding myself swallowed up in thoughts about the impending change. My heart starts racing when I think about sitting on that plane and leaving Florida, the only home I have ever known. I won’t get days this past Saturday in Seattle in June, I’ll tell you that much.
So, I’m already reading a book as the article suggests (and boy is it interesting!). I’m planning to go and visit with a friend in New Smyrna Beach at the beginning of July (it’s sort of traveling), I’m making sure I stay connected with my friends and see them often before I leave, and I feel like I’m waiting patiently. The only thing I really need is a new fitness goal. So what’s it going to be?
Do any of you have any suggestions for workout routines I can do? I need something mindless, I don’t like working out to be an ordeal and I DON’T want to be in the gym longer than an hour. Some of those Jamie Eason workouts in Phase 2 kept me in the gym forever. I also would like to workout 5 days a week, tops.
I’m thinking of doing the Spartacus workout mixed with cycling classes. If anyone has any other suggestions, please throw them my way! I’m in a workout funk!
