This is a great way to start your fitness journey because it has been designed to be used by people who have never exercised before (or have been out of action for a long time). I bought this for my brother as his first home fitness program and here is his verdict.

P90 is a 90 day fitness program made up of ten workouts on four DVDs (plus an extra bonus Saturday workout video with a cardio focus) so you can choose to exercise either five or six days a week. it comes with a resistance band and a nutrition plan, and it really is a great gateway to fitness.
The program is divided into three phases which get more intense each month. The focus is on improving your all-over fitness by helping you improve your cardio, strength and stability. The workouts are called SCULPT, SWEAT and AB RIPPER. For the first 30 days your exercise sessions (including cool down) last about 30 minutes. This increases to 38 minutes in the next month, and then 45 minutes for the last 30 days. AB RIPPER lasts about 15 minutes.
You can tailor the program for your own goals and either gear it more towards cardio (2 x SCULPT and 3 x SWEAT) or muscle tone (3 x SCULPT and 2 x SWEAT). Tony Horton, the trainer, really guides you along the way incrementally so it isn’t too much of a shock to the system.
The nutrition plan is really simple too and all the hard work is done for you so you can’t go wrong.
A six day jump start eating plan called SHRED is supplied.
They provide a full weekly shopping list so you don’t have to work anything out. (I wish they did this in all fitness programs because it saves you SO much time).
There are some jumping / high impact moves (but you can modify them) so it isn’t for people with joint problems or downstairs neighbours.
You won’t bulk up or gain muscle because the focus is on general fitness.
There is not nearly enough stretching at the end because the cool down is too short. I highly recommend you do extra stretching.
It’s the kind of program you probably only need to do once and then go on to a more difficult workout schedule (unlike other DVDs that you can use again and again).
