Even though we joined a gym in January, there are some days when getting to the gym just doesn’t happen. The drive to and from the gym and dropping the kid(s) off at child care adds extra time that I don’t always have. When the weather is beautiful, I prefer to workout outside anyway. Now that Meghan’s out of school, though, I can’t go for a run with two kids as we don’t have a double jogging stroller and she’s getting pretty big for a stroller as it is.
Enter the home workout that can be done in the living room or in the backyard.
I don’t have a ton of equipment to workout at home. No treadmill or other cardio machines and only a few dumbbells. The good news is, you can get a great home workout in without equipment. All you need is your body and a little bit of space.
Body weight workouts are great for getting strength training and cardio together. They are also excellent for improving your core strength, balance, and flexibility.
