“In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks.” John Muir
We often forget how beautiful and powerful it can be to simply go for a walk and to allow our minds to be quiet and to reflect. As a small group, we will be going on a 90 minute walk along accessible paths, taking time to be mindful. We will respond to our experiences through journaling, and will also enjoy a shared lunch together.
10am – 1pm at Bolin Bolin Billlabong Walk, 175 Bulleen Rd Bulleen (Melway map 32 C 10, Bolin Bolin Billabong Walk – Victoria Walks). Bookings: email: pat@earthsong.org.au or ph: 83590107
This special three week series will study the life and work of Rachel Carson, Joanna Macy and Thich Nhat Hahn.
Rachel Carson was a marine biologist, author and lover of nature. She wrote several books and articles, including some for children, about the wonder and beauty of the living world and alerting us to our impact on its health.
Those who contemplate the beauty of the Earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts.
Joanna Macy’s work with groups has focussed on reconnection through acknowledging the pain of loss and destruction. She has written several books, some of which offer techniques for healing and wholeness.
The heart that breaks open can contain the whole universe!
Thich Nhat Hahn is a Vietnamese Buddhist monk, teacher, author, poet and peace activist. His work invites us all to a deeper experience of our interconnectedness with all life.
