Latest Victor Cruz workout update shows some progress

AP It’s not what has become the obligatory treadmill video for injured players, but did show the world some evidence that there may be hope for his comeback. Via Jordan Raanan of NJ.com, the Giants wide receiver posted an Instagram video , including his sprinting off the line, jumping onto tall stacks of things and lifting heavy items. While it’s a far cry from actually playing, it’s at least an encouraging sign for the 29-year-old. He hasn’t taken a snap since he tore the patellar tendon in his right knee in October 2014, and then missed last year with a left calf injury. While he hadn’t progressed as far as running as of two months ago, he seems to be moving in the right direction now. The Giants this offseason, and would probably be unwise to invest too much of their plan in his return. But if they get anything out of him it will be a bonus, and help with the progress of new star wideout Jr.
