AIM The Training Plan is a movement-based SPP (Specific Physical Preparedness) program for CrossFit athletes. We will help you achieve your full potential in the Sport of Fitness. Whether your goal is to compete at a local level or to stand on the podium at the CrossFit Games, our commitment is to provide you with a plan that can get you there. Movement-based Programming The Training Plan is a complete preparation method for athletes striving to compete. The foundation of the plan is movement quality. Everything we do is geared towards increasing your capacity to express efficient movement patterns, regardless of the type or duration of the challenge. Investment in good mechanics will allow you to fully express your physical potential on game day and have a long and healthy career. "Let your skill carry your strength" - Carl Paoli. Our sport is evolving fast and we see a trend where more technical athletes are the most successful. To realise your full potential, you must master thefundamental skills and apply them to specific techniques to maximize your work capacity on game day. Skill development is built into your workout sessions to provide sufficient practise for this mastery. Ultimately, no matter how big your engine or gas tank is, when you move inefficiently, you give away performance. The CrossFit Games are won by those who combine the biggest capacity with movement efficiency. This is not just with low loads and speeds but when you're working at the limits of your capacity in competition. Energy systems development The ability to produce and sustain high power outputs both aerobically and anaerobically is the foundation of your physical preparation and supports your capacity to move well. Throughout the year, we run a range of training blocks, each with specific goals to make sure you will perform at your best, regardless of the movements and time domains encountered on game day. Be ready to suffer but know that "easy" days have their place in the Planas well. Strength development There are multiple components of strength (e.g., absolute strength, speed-strength, strength-speed etc.) that a CrossFit athlete needs to develop to support their movement capacity. Throughout the season, we use various methods of training, ranging from strength aerobic to maximal effort, to address all the components of strength. Energy system and strength development in training blocks are built to support each other for the best training synergy, which equals results for you. Mobility work Athletes without sufficient range of motion to achieve optimal positions in movement are not only compromising their performance but also their longevity in the sport. Making mobility part of your daily practise is essential for getting most out of your training and performing at your best on game day. Weightlifting Snatch and Clean & Jerk are found in practically every CrossFit competition out there. They are a superior way to develop explosive strength, power, coordination, agility, balance and many other physical attributes. You need to be proficient in these lifts and their variations whether lifting 1RM loads or higher repetitions in a workout. We emphasise good form based on solid principles. Gymnastics As a CrossFit athlete, you must know how to move your body in space efficiently. This is achieved by building the required strength, developing the skill to carry this strength and then applying it to specific techniques. An athlete with more movement options is a more successful athlete. Restoration Performance at the highest levels in our sport requires a large volume of work, and that work needs to be supported by sufficient restoration. We program specific restoration to support your training across the season to ensure you can give your best every day. Nutrition Proper nutrition and hydration forms the base of your performance. To optimally adapt to training you need to provide your body with the right fuel, in the right quantities
